ORDERING HINTS
Walthers Special Orders
1. For items not listed, write or call our Info Line (201-825-2211) for prices and availability.
2. Prices subject to change without notice.
3. SHIPPING & HANDLING:
A. U.S. Orders:
1. Continental (48) states-add $9.00 (UPS ground shipment only larger orders, estimate additional shipping & handling.)
2. USPS, Alaska, Hawaii & U.S. possessions-add $35.00 for orders with payment, the excess of which shall be refunded with your order.
B. APO, FPO & All Foreign (shipped via post office):
1. Orders with payment, include up to $35.00 (over estimation) for postage and handling, which will be applied towards the cost of surface mail (PAL or Priority for APO & FPO). The excess funds are refunded with your order.
2. For Airmail: Check with your local post office for rate schedule, and see Determination below. Advise of maximum amount willing to spend for shipping & handling along with consent to then ship via surface (less costly, however transit time may take 4-6 weeks).
As a last resort, we will ship via surface mail. Allow 4-6 weeks for transit time. This service will be considerably less expensive.
3. Determination: Handling fee (see below) plus the total of the actual postage freight/insurance fees.

4. We shall refund any excesses with your order, in those cases where payment accompanies the order.
C. UPS "Guaranteed Delivery" services (2nd day & next day) will be utilized upon customer request. Consult UPS for availability & related details for the desired area to which the order is to be shipped. Shipping & handling is derived as follows: Handling (see above) plus the actual freight (the greater of either physical or dimensional weight in most cases). Full insurance will be included without additional cost.
4. CREDIT CARD ORDERS: Unlike other mail order houses, SHS NEVER charges an account on the basis of total "ordered". Our policy has always been to charge accounts for the total "shipped", and, only on the day of shipment.
5. We ship UPS wherever possible. If you cannot be present to accept the package we can ship to your job, a neighbor, friend, relative, etc. All P.O. Box addresses (i.e., those without a street address) will be shipped via U.S. Post Office.
6. RETURNS, MISSING PARTS & DAMAGES:
A. RETURNS
1. All returns, at the option of SHS, are subject to a 15% restocking fee. This fee includes:
a. Manufacturer defects of any kind.
b. Missing parts (see below).
c. Incorrectly labeled &/or packaged items by the manufacturer.
Returns made for the purpose of exchange for the same or other items, simply make a new order, allowing for the current shipping and handling. The credit for the returned item(s) will either be refunded or applied to your new order at SHS's option.
2. Factory Defects & Errors: For the fastest service the item should be returned to the manufacturer.
3. All returns must be in factory new" condition which includes the original packaging, literature and warranty forms in addition to the following:
a. items must be accompanied by the sales receipt.
b. all claims must be made within two (2) weeks of receipt of merchandise.
4. Items which are defective from the following manufacturers must be returned directly to the maker for repair or replacement, in accordance with each manufacturer's warranty policy:

All questions and/or comments concerning this policy should be made directly to the factory.
5. Standard Hobby Supply Errors:
In such cases, we shall refund return freight costs as follows:
- Continental U.S. (48 states)UPS Ground Freight or Parcel Post cost.
- Alaska, Hawaii & PossessionsUPS or Parcel Post cost.
- All ForeignPost Office Parcel Post cost.
We will not refund for any other related costs, including "pick-up" charges, materials and/or handling costs.

IMPORTANT: Include customer's name on the shipping label.
*Sorry, we do not have a retail store. We have no facilities to conduct over-the-counter sales.
We suggest that UPS be utilized for maximum efficiency in processing your return and, remember:
- Secure and pack carefully in a shipping carton. Do not simply wrap in paper.
- We are not responsible for damage incurred on the return trip. It is advisable to consider insuring your package.
- Include your sales receipt.
- Allow up to 3-4 weeks for processing/delivery.
B. MISSING PARTS: Do not return the entire kit. The following procedure will eliminate unnecessary shipping and handling in both directions. Notify the manufacturer of the missing part(s) and send us a photo copy of your letter (including the invoice number covering the purchase of the item in question). Or, notify us and we will send a note to the manufacturer. Be sure to give a detailed description, part number, and/or photo copy in either case.
C. DAMAGES: Packages received in damaged condition.
1. Save all shipping cartons and packaging materials in the event that a carrier inspection is necessary. Do not discard this material until the claim is settled.
2. Advise Standard Hobby Supply of the approximate damages or when delivered by U.P.S., you may report the damage directly to their local office. In doing so, two steps will be eliminated from the process, which will greatly enhance the speed of settling your claim.
3. We will then instruct you as to the best procedure to take to conclude the problem quickly.
4. Please do not simply return without receiving Standard Hobby Supply instructions, as this will create delays in settling the matter.
Many times claims must be filed from the receivers end as the carrier may want to inspect the package. Therefore, if the package is returned, not only can it not be inspected as delivered, but the carrier may disavow any responsible claiming additional damage may have occurred on the return trip. So, again, please do not simply return the package. Please contact Standard Hobby Supply for instructions.
Orders Paid by Credit Card: SHS will make any and all adjustments for refunds. Please DO NOT simply "charge back" through your credit card account, as this results in out-of-pocket charges and additional expenses to SHS. Notify SHS of any claims so that we can initiate from our end, and thereby avoiding these additional costs.
ORDERING HINTS
1. ORDER NUMBERS: Please provide the order number which consists of the Mfg. ID plus the Item Stock Number. PHONE ORDERS: Provide only the Order # & Unit Quantity. Descriptions & any other information is not needed at the time your order is taken. Please be sure to select the correct Order # for the desired item. FAX & MAIL-IN-ORDERS: Provide the Order No. & Unit Quantity. Please also include the Mfg. Name, Description, Unit Price & Amount.
2. SHIPPING & HANDLING: Be sure to add in the proper shipping & handling, sales tax (for N.J. residents), check your math, and look for any expiration dates when ordering from a magazine ad or sale flyer.
3. CASH REMITTANCE: If you must send cash, use bills only and wrap carefully so the currency cannot be seen through the envelope. We will refund any difference either by check or in cash with your order. SHS does not recommend sending cash & will assume no responsibility for any such losses.
4. QUESTIONS: We usually include our responses with your order, however, should any research be necessary, we will forward under separate cover. Mail in orders, please place your questions on a separate sheet with your name and address.
5. ROAD NAMES: Give several alternate choices when ordering items involving road names if possible.
6. ADDRESS CHANGES: Advise of any address changes and be sure to include your old address.
7. ITEMS NOT IN STOCK: Advance orders can be placed for current and/or new items provided a "hold period" is given (must be expressed in the number of weeks you are willing to wait). If necessary 12 weeks, 16 weeks, or longer may be given. In the event that the order is not completed by the end of the hold period, also provide end instructions to either ship items on hand or contact. SHIPMENT will be made at any time prior to the hold date upon completion of the order.
8. BACK ORDERS: Back Orders are made only upon customer request, otherwise all un-shipped items are cancelled. Back Order shipments are subject to the regular shipping & handling fee schedule.
9. SPECIAL ORDERS: For items not listed in our catalog, but listed in Walthers, special orders can be made.
Indicate on your order "up to 4 weeks" hold period. Please note that this period will begin on receipt of your order, and that shipping time from SHS to you is not included. Please make the necessary allowances. This hold period is necessary as orders are sent to Walthers every week. Since it takes about 2 weeks for us to receive orders from Walthers, it may be necessary for us to hold your order for up to 4 weeks.

Some items exceeding $3.00 will carry a 5% or 10% discount depending upon how short a dealer discount is offered by Walthers to SHS. Prices are subject to change and therefore, the above discounts will be applied to the Walthers current billing "List" price.
To speed shipment of your order, please furnish:
1. Quantity
2. MFG. name (plus the Walthers 3 digit Mfg. Prefix Number.)
3. Item stock number
NOTE: Items that are indicated "dealer packs only" as stated in the Walthers catalog and that are not listed in our catalog, cannot be ordered on a piecemeal basis. The customer must be willing to buy the complete dealer pack.
Orders are shipped at prices prevailing at time of shipment. Remember, a catalog like Walthers is printed before the year it is to be current in. Since prices are changing all the time, to avoid delays, a few extra dollars added to an order to cover price changes is a wise idea. We will of course refund any excess.
For credit card orders, you may wish to express a ceiling amount that you will be willing to pay extra in the event of the price increases. (e.g. 5%, 10%, etc.) All prices are subject to change without notice.
Since Walthers' return policy has a 20% restocking fee to dealers, a customer return of special order items to SHS will be subject to a 20% restocking & handling fee also.
REMEMBER . . .
This catalog represents a list of current items as shown on manufacturers literature. This listing does not necessarily reflect current in-stock conditions here at Standard Hobby Supply. Although we have wide, in-depth selections on hand, it is not possible to have all items at all times. It is helpful to the hobbyist to remember that many hobby manufacturers are small companies catering to small markets. Therefore, consistent availability is not always possible.
